Coronavirus, January 1, 2022: The rate continues to rise in Timisoara. Fewer infections in the country, but fewer tests

1,451 people infected with Covid-19 were detected nationwide, and 46 cases come from Timiș, according to data provided by the Prefecture. There are 28 cases in Timisoara. Out of the total number of people identified positively in the last 24 hours, five are under 18 years old. Among those infected is a medical staff.

At the county level, 847 tests were performed, 374 being rapid tests. On Saturday morning, 135 people confirmed with Covid-19 were hospitalized in the county hospitals, and 22 patients were in the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

There are no more active outbreaks in Timiș.

Incidence in the county and in the localities

According to the report of the county authorities on Friday, the infection rate in Timiș is 0.74 per thousand inhabitants. In Timisoara, the incidence is 1.01 per thousand, slightly increasing.

Localities with a 14-day infection rate over 2/1000 and less than 3/1000 inhabitants:

The National Institute of Public Health reported, in the last 24 hours, 27 deaths, one of which was previously, of some patients hospitalized in the hospitals Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bistrița-Năsăud, Buzău, Constanța, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Maramureș , Mureș, Neamț, Satu Mare and Bucharest.

“Of the 27 deaths, 1 was recorded in the 40-49 age group, 3 in the 50-59 age group, 4 in the 60-69 age group, 9 in the 70-79 age group and 10 in the age group over 80 years. 26 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and for 1 patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

Of the 27 patients who died, 21 were unvaccinated and 6 were vaccinated. The 6 vaccinated patients who died were between the ages of 50-59 and over 80 years old. All the vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities “, say those from the Strategic Communication Group.

2,247 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in Romanian hospitals, and 395 are in ATI.

“Of the 395 patients admitted to ATI, 32 have a certificate attesting to vaccination. Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 47 are minors, 40 being hospitalized in wards and 7 at ATI “, say those from the Strategic Communication Group.
