The Paris government has set new measures, which will take effect on January 3. Remote work, at least three days a week, will become mandatory in areas that allow this, and public gatherings will be limited to 2,000 people for indoor events. Outdoor gatherings of more than 5,000 people will also be banned.

The French government also intends to shorten the administration period for anti-SARS-VOC-2 serum doses from four months to three months, the BBC reports. This could lead to four doses of the vaccine in a year. In total, the French would have seven doses in two years. Initially, the “booster” was recommended once every six months.

Prime Minister Jean Castex said “the pandemic feels like a never-ending movie,” and Health Minister Olivier Veran said SARS-VOC-2 infections would double in a few days.

Every day, France registers an average of over 70,000 new infections. On Monday, 1,600 new hospitalizations with COVID were reported. Meanwhile, anti-restriction protests continue in France and other European countries, two years after the WHO announced the start of the COVID pandemic.

In Romania, the number of people infected with Omicron reached 38. Of these, 13 were reported on Monday. 6 people were vaccinated, 7 were not vaccinated.
