China accuses the US of wanting to dominate space but has the same ambition | Space

China complained this week to the United States, arguing that the country is not fulfilling its obligations as a signatory to the Space Treaty. This is because satellites from the Starlink constellation, owned by the millionaire Elon Musk, were twice close to hitting the Chinese space station. Considering that the incidents were “risks to the life or health of astronauts aboard the China Space Station”, Beijing asked the UN Office for Outer Space to remind Treaty members of their “international responsibility for activities in outer space, […] whether these are carried out by governmental agencies or non-governmental entities”.
