Portugal registers this Saturday over 21 deaths by covid-19. According to data from the daily report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), there are also 23,290 new infections to be registered in the last 24 hours.

It should be noted that the North Region was the region where the most deaths occurred: seven out of a total of 21 deaths registered in Portugal. Six were in Centro, four in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, one in Alentejo, one in Algarve, one in Madeira and one in the Azores.

It should also be noted that this Saturday there was a slight decrease in the number of admissions. There are now 1,023 people admitted to the ward, one fewer than the day before, and there are 142 people admitted to Intensive Care Units, three fewer people than the day before.

Active cases increased again in the last 24 hours, totaling 196,223, 17,511 more than on Friday, and 5,758 people recovered from the disease, bringing the national total of recoveries to 1,197,737.
