It was made by a woman who was afraid for her and her daughter’s life. – The perpetrator harassed his victims for almost a year, calling them at different times of the day and night and texting them. The man made insults and threats of taking their lives against them – reports Elwira Kozłowska from the Warsaw V District Police Headquarters.

Police explain what stalking is

– Symptoms of stalking may include persistent tracking of the victim, constant texting, sending e-mails, attempts to humiliate a given person in their work or place of residence, and other repetitive behaviors that undermine the victim’s sense of security and privacy – explains Kozłowska.

For a person’s action to be considered stalking, all of the above-mentioned signs of activity must be against the will of the victim. It happens that they are continued despite the addressee’s requests to stop.

People who feel that they may have become the victims of a stalker should not be afraid of contact with the police. The offense is a so-called petty offense, so officers will be able to hold the perpetrator criminally responsible if they get a notice from the victim. – Often, ignoring the perpetrator can lead to an escalation of dangerous behavior and pose a serious threat to the life and health of the stalker’s victims – warns the policewoman.
