The drunk man, after being transported to the hospital, barricaded himself in the break room. He struggled with the doctor who intervened. A 49-year-old resident of the Piekoszów commune was detained. The doctor notified the police about a violation of his inviolability.

On Saturday morning, an ambulance took a 49-year-old resident of the Piekoszów commune to the emergency department of the Provincial Integrated Hospital in Kielce. The man was under the influence of alcohol.

The man entered one of the break rooms in the hospital grounds and barricaded himself there. Then one of the doctors who managed to enter the room intervened. There was a struggle between the men. The policemen who arrived at the scene detained the aggressive patient – told the subcommittee. Damian Janus from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Kielce.

A person providing first aid or qualified first aid, a person who is part of a medical rescue team, a person providing health services in a hospital emergency department, a medical dispatcher during the performance of his tasks, a voivodeship coordinator of emergency medical services performing the tasks referred to in art. 29 sec. 5, and the national coordinator of emergency medical services performing the tasks referred to in article 1. 20a paragraph 3, enjoy the protection provided for in the Act of 6 June 1997 – Penal Code (Journal of Laws of 2020, items 1444 and 1517 and of 2021, item 1023) for public officials.

The doctor reported to a nearby police station and reported that his inviolability had been violated.

A resident of the Piekoszów commune was detained. He had about two alcohol levels in his body.

Whoever violates the physical integrity of a public official or a person to assist him during or in connection with the performance of official duties, shall be subject to a fine, the penalty of restriction of liberty or the penalty of deprivation of liberty for up to 3 years.
