Two people arrived last night at the County Hospital in Târgu-Jiu seriously injured by firecrackers, the spokesperson of the medical unit told Digi24. And they weren’t the only emergencies like this. Also in Constanța, a three-year-old child, a teenager and an adult suffered burns due to the fireworks lit on New Year’s Eve.
The spokesperson of the hospital from Târgu-Jiu, Mihaela Floroiu Țicleanu, declared in an intervention at Digi24 that last night (Friday – no) a 64-year-old man has the fingers of one hand affected due to the explosion of a firecracker. The patient is currently in the Orthopedic Department and will most likely undergo surgery.
Also, according to the quoted source, another serious case is of a 37-year-old man, whose firecracker was destroyed by a firecracker. The man was brought in serious condition to Târgu-Jiu and was transferred to the Craiova Hospital.
“In total, there were 12 presentations at the Emergency Reception Unit from December 31, at 20.00, until this morning at 8.00”, the spokesperson of the hospital from Târgu-Jiu specified.
Three people from Constanţa, including a three-year-old child, arrived at the hospital with various burns, on New Year’s Eve, due to firecrackers, the County Ambulance Service (SAJ) informed.
And in Constanța, the ambulance was requested in 130 cases at the balance between the years, 60 of the patients being transported to medical units. A three-year-old boy with an abdominal burn, a 15-year-old teenager with an eye burn and an adult with a hand injury were injured by firecrackers.
