According to Sport.ro, the coach born in Târgu Mureș is on the short list of possible coaches of AS Monaco, after the Croatian Niko Kovac was fired. If he signed with Kylian Mbappe’s former club, Boloni would return to the club he coached 15 years ago.

Ladislau Boloni, close to returning to AS Monaco!

The owner of AS Monaco, the Russian Dmitry Rybolovlev is a fan of Ladislau Boloni and would have tried in the past to bring the Romanian to another team he owned, in Belgium, at Cercle Brugge. This would happen without 2020, but then Boloni signed with Ghent. Unfortunately for him, he was fired after only three games.

Ladislau Boloni is competing for the position at AS Monaco. The international press is circulating other interesting names in this race: Philippe Clement from Club Brugge, Jesse March – fired from Leipzig soon or Paulo Fonseca – free from contract since last summer, after the experience at AS Roma, the French note the Team.

In his career, Ladislau Boloni coached four times in France: 1994-2000 on Nancy, 2003-2006 on Rennes, July-October 2011 on AS Monaco and January-May 2011 on Lens.

He managed to promote Nancy in Ligue 1, and with Rennes he managed the best performance in the history of the club – the 4th place in Ligue 1. The experience of AS Monaco was a total failure. Boloni left the team in 19th place out of 20, at the time of dismissal. He also didn’t do very well at Lens. He was brought back to save the team from relegation, but this did not happen.

Ladislau Boloni he is also in the race for the position of selector of Romania. The experienced coach met, the other day, with the president of the Romanian Football Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, and with the director of the FRF Technical Commission, Mihai Stoichiță, in order to set up a possible collaboration.

Apparently, Boloni he put the FRF officials “on hold”, because he still had something to solve. This would be, according to the quoted source, a discussion to take over the AS Monaco team.

At the moment, after 19 stages, AS Monaco is on the 6th place, with 29 points, four behind the second place, occupied by Nice.
