Nika Kriznar won the Friday New Year’s Eve Tournament on the hill in Ljubno (HS94). The Slovenian international triumphed with jumps of 91.5 meters and 94.5 meters. Marita Kramer was second and Ema Klinec was third. Nicole Konderla did not advance to the finals.

In the first competition series, Marita Kramer flew the farthest. The World Cup leader landed at 94 meters and was leading with an advantage of 3 points over Nika Kriznar (91.5 m) and 4.3 points over Ema Klinec (91 m). Katharina Althaus (91 m) was fourth and Sara Takanashi (92 m) was fifth.

Jumping from a shortened inrun, Ursa Bogataj achieved a distance of 84.5 meters and was sixth at the halfway point, ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (87 m), Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (87 m), Lisa Eder (85.5 m) and Nika Prevc (86 m).

Nicole Konderla landed on 76 meters and lost the KO duel with Anna Odine Stroem (83 m), finishing in the competition in the forty-seventh position.

Daniela Haralambie, Aleksandra Kustowa, Sofja Tikhonowa, Irma Machinia and Yuki Ito were promoted to the finals as “lucky losers”.

The first competition series was carried out from the 18th starting beam. Ursa Bogataj gave her attempt from the 17th platform.

In the end, Marita Kramer did not take another knockout win. Nika Kriznar soared for the victory. The defender of the Crystal Ball gained 94.5 meters and overtook the representative of Austria (89 m) by 3.8 points. On the lowest step of the podium was Ema Klinec (91 m), followed by Ursa Bogataj (91.5 m), Katharina Althaus (87 m) and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (89 m).

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (89 m) finished seventh, Lisa Eder was eighth (90 m), Eva Pinkelnig was ninth (85 m) and Thea Minyan Bjoerseth (85 m) was tenth.

The final round was played from the 18th starting beam.

Thanks to the victory, Nika Kriznar (263.7 points) took the lead in the New Year’s Eve Tournament. The Slovenian is ahead of Marita Kramer (259.9 points) and Ema Klinec (257.2 points). Nicole Konderla is in forty-seventh place (91.2 points).

In the World Cup, Marita Kramer (710 points) is confidently ahead of Katharina Althaus (506 points) and Ursa Bogataj (445 points). Forty-fifth is Kinga Rajda (2 points).

At the top of the Nations Cup are the national teams of Austria (1649 points), Slovenia (1514 points) and Germany (796 points). Polish women with the achievement of 2 points are in the fifteenth place.

The final competition of the New Year’s Eve Tournament will be held on New Year’s Day. A trial series is scheduled at 9:45 am, and qualifications for Saturday’s competition (4:00 pm) at 10:45 am.
