ME handball players 2022. Polish team. Patryk Rombel shortened the list of players

From December 12 to 23, the Poles stayed at the training camp in Władysławowo, and after Christmas they took part in the 4Nations Cup tournament in Gdańsk. At its inauguration they lost Tunisia 26:30, which triumphed in the event, then Japan won 28:27 and the Netherlands 33:27 and took second place.

After the tournament, the coach Patryk Rombel resigned from five players. There are no surprises. Deleted are: goalkeeper Miłosz Wałach, rotating Bartłomiej Bis, winger Mikołaj Czapliński and Krzysztof Komarzewski and right quarterback Wiktor Tomczak.

From Płock to Spain and again to Płock

A training consultation is planned in Płock from 2 to 5 January. 21 competitors will take part in it. However, not everyone has had the opportunity to train with the team so far. Only on Sunday, Piotr Chrapkowski (Magdeburg), Maciej Gębal (SC DHfK Leipzig) and Melwin Beckman (HK Aranas) will join their colleagues.

– They could not come earlier because the Bundesliga, like the Swedish league, played between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. It will be an opportunity to see how they will fit into the team and whether they will stay at a later stage – emphasized Rombel.

This is what the tournament in Spain will be, the last one before the championship. From 6 to 8 January in Cuenca, apart from the hosts and Poles, also Iranians and Japanese will perform.

– 18 players will go to Spain for sure, maybe an additional player will be taken. We want to practice certain elements, but also use the right rotation so as not to get the boys before the game with Austria – added the coach.

From the Iberian Peninsula, the White-Reds will return to Płock for four days, and then they will take part in the European Championship – the event will be held in Hungary and Slovakia from 13 to 30 January.

In group D of the European championship, the Poles will play successively against Austria (14.01), Belarus (16.01) and Germany (18.01). All meetings will be held in Bratislava.
