Due to the tragedy, the railway traffic between Tapolca – Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget is suspended.

A train and a car collided on road number 7345 on January 1 at around 8:50 a.m. in the administrative area of ​​Tapolca, at a railway crossing, police.hu wrote.

Four of the passengers in the car died and a person was taken to hospital with a life-threatening injury, the Veszprém County Police Headquarters said.

According to Mávinform, the car collided with a high-speed train near Kisapáti, where the light barrier was operating, showing a prohibited signal. No one was injured on the train.

Between Tapolca and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget, train traffic will be suspended until the end of the site, probably until early afternoon, and a replacement bus will run on this section.

The passengers of the train involved in the accident are transported with the help of Disaster Management. Longer journey times are to be expected on the Budapest-Székesfehérvár-Tapolca line.
