Apple claims for the App Store a unique quality in the evaluation of the apps and the contents found in it. What has now been revealed is that in fact there are still malicious apps that are harming iOS users.
This is yet another discovery made by Kosta Eleftheriou, who reported the presence of several illegal streaming apps on the App Store. Once again this situation happens and iOS users are harmed.
Another situation of fraudulent apps in the App Store
Apps that are in stores like the App Store are the engine of mobile devices. This is where users turn to get more out of their devices, always trusting the companies that maintain them and that supposedly evaluate the offers.
With a record that is always understood to be immaculate, the App Store is once again at the center of yet another controversy. According to programmer Kosta Eleftheriou, Apple's app store houses several illegal streaming apps that exploit users to gain access.
Apple is making money from this illegal situation
The way to deceive and deceive iOS users is simple. The apps use movie presentations and images. In order to be used and to have access to the contents, they are asked to post codes or share them with others, so that they can grow.
Within these illegal proposals there are also paid subscription services. The most ridiculous thing is that in these cases Apple is receiving its commission and making money from this illegal situation. Kosta Eleftheriou says that these apps have more than 2 million downloads and generate around 16 thousand dollars a day.
There is no position for this iOS issue
Apple has been aware of this situation, although it has remained silent. Some of the apps presented by Kosta Eleftheriou were
from the App Store, but apparently none were actively found.
For the record, Apple took down this app just 30 minutes after my post. https://t.co/q7tDAVHzoQ— Kosta Eleftheriou (@keleftheriou) December 22, 2021
Kosta Eleftheriou is already well known for his work on detecting these types of situations in the Apple app store. Several times he found and denounced several situations in which users were harmed, as well as others that showed situations that were unusual for Apple.
