Passenger is taken off the flight after assaulting a flight attendant and refusing to wear a mask

A passenger was removed from a Azul airline flight for refusing to wear a protective mask and for assaulting an employee of the company. The plane had taken off from Fortaleza Airport and had to return to the terminal on Thursday night (30) after the confusion.

In a statement, Azul informed that the passenger was restrained and removed from the aircraft by the Federal Police. A police report was also registered against the aggressor in the capital of Ceará.

The company also stated that, after the Federal Police action, the plane took off again towards Belo Horizonte and that the flight took place normally.

Azul apologized to the passengers. “The company regrets any annoyances occurred to its customers and emphasizes that measures such as these are necessary to ensure the security of its operations,” he said in the statement.
