Fights and brawls with tourists in Zakopane. One policeman injured

“During the mass event, we did not notice any major events. However, apart from the event in the Krupówki area and on the outskirts of the city, there were numerous brawls and fights with tourists who, unfortunately, overdid with alcohol” – said Roman Wieczorek, spokesman of the Zakopane police, summing up the New Year’s Eve night. He added that over a dozen people were detained and a policeman was injured during one of the interventions.

The spokesman of the Zakopane police, Roman Wieczorek, said that about 40,000 tourists welcomed the New Year on Równia Krupowa. There were no major incidents during the New Year’s Eve.

In the Tatra poviat from 18 to 3, the police undertook 107 different types of interventions. In the area of ​​Krupówki and on the outskirts of the city there were numerous brawls and fights with the participation of tourists who, unfortunately, overdid with alcohol Wieczorek informed. During one of the interventions, a policeman was injured.

People detained during the New Year’s Eve, after sobering up, are to hear accusations regarding, inter alia, insults and attacks on intervening policemen, possession of prohibited substances, drunk driving, fights and bodily injuries.
