Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester, the most affected teams

16 Premier League teams will lose at least one footballer in January due to calls for the Africa Cup of Nations.

A player who will participate in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations will be able to return to the club team no earlier than January 20, when the group stage of the competition in Cameroon ends.

Initially, the European Club Association (ECA) threatened not to release the players called up for the Africa Cup of Nations in January-February 2022, due to the sanitary protocol established against the background of the coronavirus pandemic.

Later, FIFA announced that the players summoned to the Africa Cup of Nations must receive permission to participate, being able to play for their club teams until January 3, 2022.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Leicester City are the teams most affected by the calls for the Africa Cup of Nations. On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Leeds United and Norwich City will not be affected at all.
