Nikodem Skotarczak was born in 1954 in Gdańsk and spent his youth there. Although he was a gardener by training, he never used the learned knowledge in practice. Instead, he decided to be a bodyguard in the gangster club “Lucynka”. This place was a magnet for people with a criminal past and present. It was no different with “Nikos”.
The second half of the 1970s is the moment when “Nikoś“He already runs his own criminal group. He is also becoming a well-known smuggler of foreign cars – mainly from Austria and Germany. With time, he even moves permanently to Hamburg, but eventually returns to Poland.
Women adored him, men envied him. In appearance, no one would say that such a smiling and inconspicuous man is the king of thieves and conducts other criminals. He was always gallant towards women, which is why he was called a gentleman.
Nikodem “Nikos” Skotarczak he was also an avid sports fan. He sponsored Lechia Gdańsk many times. He even received a letter of thanks for sponsoring equipment and shoes for the players. In the 1982/1983 season, he received thanks from the mayor of the city as “Meritorious for Gdańsk”.
The first wife of Nikodem Skotarczak to Gabriela Lamek. They met at a young age, fell in love, and the wedding took place on November 11, 1975. Gabriela quickly became pregnant and gave birth to a son – Piotr. The happy family lived in Wrzeszcz then. Unfortunately, 2 years after the wedding, Gabriela died of unknown causes.
The second wife of Nikosia she stayed Halina Ostrowska. The wedding took place about a year after Gabriela’s death. Halina was 8 years older than Nikodemand was also a widow with two children (Jarosław and Aleksandra). After the wedding of Halina and Nikodem, daughter Natalia was born. It was then that the family lived in a famous villa on Jelitkowska Street in Gdańsk. Currently the house is converted into a lodging place. In 1981, the couple separated and a year later divorced. The problem in marriage was Nicodemus’ too much liking for women. Despite this, the court does not rule on the guilt, thanks to which they both have parental rights over Natalia. The alimony granted by the judge in the amount of PLN 4,000 was, according to Nikodem, “too modest” and he voluntarily paid PLN 10,000 a month. Despite the divorce, they all had a very good relationship with each other.
Edyta Skotarczak to third wife of Nicodemus. They married in 1992. Pershing himself came to the wedding of the bride and groom, another one, right after “Nightingale“the king of gangsters from Masovia. Pershing was even a witness to Nicodemus. This only shows how closely connected he is mafia. Apparently, the wedding gift (apart from the dollars in the envelope) was the largest color TV available at the time.
Though Edyta Skotarczak not before, she did not comment on her husband’s past, it was because of the film “How I fell in love with a gangster“she decided to speak. And quite a critical one. In her statement on Facebook, we can read that no one informed her about the production of this film and it is a fiction mixed with the director’s vision. The main role in the film was played by Tomaszłosok, as well as Sebastian Fabijański, Antoni Królikowski and Julia Wieniawa.
Nikodem Skotarczak most of the time he was agile on the run to the police. By the time. He had his first visit to the prison in 1989 – he left after 3 months. He escaped from manhunts many times and hid for months in unknown places. In 1993, he was caught again by the police. He got out of prison after a year for good behavior. In 1996 his trial began. Nikodem Skotarczak was accused of leading a criminal group.
Although everyone knew about Nikodem Skotarczak’s criminal experience, most did not mind his episodic appearance in the movie “Sztos”. Interestingly, “Nikosia” is voiced by Olaf Lubaszenko. He also starred in the film Cezary Pazura.
Death to Nikodem Skotarczak she came unexpectedly on April 24, 1998. He dies then in a shootout at the “Las Vegas” escort agency in Gdynia 44-year-old Nikodem and some of his companions. The bystanders said it looked like a typical execution. The perpetrators were never apprehended.
Nikos’s funeral aroused controversy – the parish priest refused to give a farewell ceremony to the gangster’s family. According to him, he did not deserve a traditional Catholic burial because of his past. The archbishop of Gdańsk, Tadeusz Gocłowski, intervened. It is thanks to him “Nikoś” he has been buried.
The tomb of Nikodem Skotarczak located on Srebrzysko Cemetery in Gdańsk. The distinctive marble monument is visible from afar. Particular attention is paid to the Latin sentence “I was not, I was, I am not, I do not care“which means”I wasn’t, I was, I’m gone, I don’t care“.
