More than 70,000 people were vaccinated this Friday against the flu and covid-19, almost 52,000 with the booster dose, with 51 children aged between 5 and 11 having been vaccinated as well.
According to the most recent data from the daily report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) on vaccination against covid-19 and influenza, in mainland Portugal, 70,045 people were vaccinated today.
Among those vaccinated, 51,618 received the booster dose of covid-19 vaccine, while another 4,350 completed the primary vaccination and 14,026 were inoculated with the flu vaccine.
Among the total number of people who have already taken the booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine, data from the DGS show that 88% of people aged 80 and over have already had the booster, an identical percentage (87%) among people with aged between 70 and 79 years.
The percentage is low in the age group from 60 to 69 years old, in which 62% of the total people have already taken the booster dose, lower even more in the age group 50-59 years old, where the percentage is only 26% of the total.
In the accumulated total, 8,695,365 people have been fully vaccinated against covid-19, 2,869,878 have taken a booster dose, and 2,418,828 are vaccinated against influenza.
Among children, 95,714 started vaccination with at least one dose.
Vaccination data are calculated daily, between 00:00 and 23:59, relative to the day before the release of the report.
